  • DEFINITELY FILIPINO BLOG NETWORK

This blog and the Facebook Page was born from the idea that we should further our culture regardless of where we are, or where we were born. It is meant to be interactive so everyone can learn from each other. Around May 2009, I was browsing Facebook’s other Filipino Groups and Pages and realized that there wasn’t really a place in Facebook where Filipinos can mingle and meet others. These Groups/Pages, though promoting Filipino culture and pride, did not have interaction between its members. Their members would simply visit the group in the beginning, then forget about it afterwards and seldom return. This is the basis and philosophy behind this Page. It’s the place to come, learn, interact and belong…. We were founded July 27, 2009 and has since grown close to 1.1 million members (as of November 2010) – the largest culturally-related Filipino group on the internet!

06/23/14 02:38:46 PM So, ayan na. May umaalingawngaw na isang hianig. Mainit raw masyado.
    • “Tuesdays with Morrie”
We never know how fortunate and blessed we truly are until something happens or someone comes in and unknowingly breaks the “long-time running drama” we created for ourselves. That was Morrie Schwartz for me, the remarkably brave and bold character in the book, “Tuesdays with Morrie,” written by Mitch Albom. Morrie Schwartz was a dying old, professor who wil […]
    • Gangster Daw?!
7/15/2014 11:14:35 PM Anong meron sa poster na ito? Gangster daw. Whoa. Talaga ha? Gangster ampucha.

    • Homosexuality is Not a Disease
The thing about Homosexuality First of all, I want to clarify to all of you that I am not a homosexual or a transgender or whatever, I just want to express my opinion to this century-old dilemma. “Ako’y isang sirena, kahit anong sabihin nila ako’y ubod ng ganda”. A line from Gloc 9’s hit single “Sirena”. I liked the song, honestly and I found it as an eye-op […]
    • Separating Religion From Governance Can Lead to Progress!
Junior Layug Cagadas published an article at DefinitelyFilipino Blog entitled “Why We Filipinos Live in a Sick Society”. In his short commentary, he outlines several reasons why the Philippines is such in a bad state. Among those reasons are corruption, poverty, crime, and violence. He did not mention, however, what I consider to be another hindrance to prog […]

I am a Nurse. Whether I spend most of the time at the bedside or in front of students, I am still a nurse. Every day, my goal is to influence a nurse to do her very best, as others have done before. I am but one of the fortunate ones given the privilege […] […]
